Stephen K and I were up at Dunmore tonight. With heavy rain over the last few days, flooded roads etc it was good to see how Dunmore Mountain would hold up. Gotta say we cycled around the youth and senior courses without a hitch. It's either grass or stone. Yes there were patches of laying water (new ponds appearing) but you could still cycle around them. It's almost like an all weather course. At the moment the growth level of grass, ferns, nettles is low. Some nice new sections that Stephen & Brian had sussed out. It was good to see where the water was likely to lie.

I'm sending out a text message to ask for volunteers to help out on the day of the race (30 June 2012). We need a team for sign on, timekeeping, marshalling and catering. If you can help please let me know.

I'm probably going to head up to Dunmore on Tuesday &/or Wednesday night this week if anyone wants to come up for a spin around or to do a bit of gardening? The weather may decide which night.

Nice evening up at Dunmore. Ross was about but we missed each other. Laid out 14 arrows to mark the new course.
We could do with a session of volunteers to strim the ferns that are starting to grow. Is anyone available tonight to head up?

If anyone has a petrol strimmer that could be used, but perhaps not the time to use it, let me know and I will try to put it to use up on the hill.

Another nice evening up at Dunmore. Brian and Garry up with me. Got more of the course marked. Set out a rough layout for the U8 and U10 course. Garry and I then had a spin around it. Great place especially on a clear night with beautiful views of the Mournes

John, it does look like a better evening than last Friday I'll head up with more poles and a couple of pallets. See you up there.

John, Brian (+Ben) and I were up at Dunmore last night. More poles out and some strimming done. Lovely night up there. I'll be heading up tonight again (between 7-8pm). If you can help out please do. With strimmers or rakes or simple man/woman power.

Another nice evening up at Dunmore. On site was John S, Gibson, Brian & Ben. The sun appeared just at the end. We are heading up again tonight. We could do with a hand from more club members to kill off the strimming, raking etc. Feel free to bring a bike with you for a spin around at the end.

Marty will be going for a new landspeed record down that road for strava... Turn around when you get to the end and cycle back up it marty!

Another busy night up at Dunmore last night. Paddy H and Raymund M were on the strimmers, John S, Gibson and Barry were on the bikes testing and measuring the route, Marty McA was on bike and then worked with Kyle I to finish the pallet bridge. Photo below.
