Hi everyone.
Our cyclocross race is in Moira Park on 2nd November this year. In a very short space of time, Moira has established itself as one of the best courses in the country and we want to make it even better this year. We need volunteers for both Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd.
We need people to help set up the course on Saturday afternoon - clearing leaves, setting up posts and barriers and some general gardening duties!
On Sunday we will need course markers (from around 7am), sign on staff, timekeepers, marshals, traffic marshals, tent putter uppers, catering staff, course clearers, hecklers/bell ringers (aka more marshals) and a photographer (all from around 9am).
This is your last opportunity to earn your £20 store credit this year and your best opportunity to make Lisa a very happy cyclocrosser!!
Please let me know what you can do and when. You can do a shift or shifts. If you do all day, you will get a free lunch (and your £20 kit store credit, if you haven't already done your marshalling duties).
Post on the message board or Facebook or text/phone me - 07734058715 to let me know how you can help.
Let's pull together to make this something really special!
ps. If you have kiddies, bring them. They can race, get free stuff, meet other kids and have a great day.

Surely a typo! Newry 3 day rider =A race. Check out the young riders on the podium last week Darnell Moore and James Curry.

I'm in the A race now ? I heard it was to give you extra recovery time between sunday morning club duty and your race?

Lisa/Martin
Last year I marshalled the crossing point around the back of the course.
I suggested afterwards that it would benefit from 2 people being there and also the provision of a brush (yard type of course) to sweep the mud off the path periodically. I recall an old dear tip toeing through the mud in her best shoes!
If it suits I am happy to do this crossing again on Sunday and have talked to Noel who is happy to assist at this point also. We will need the barriers again and signs for either side of the crossing.
Let me know if this suits.
Thanks.

Gary, we had actually tweaked the design of the course so instead of crossing the path in 4 locations we now don't cross it at all. At that far end of the course the riders will be using half of the path and I'd be happy to have you and Noel at that end ensuring that course tape etc stays in place. We will need a brush to clean the path afterwards so I'll ensure that is brought along. Many thanks

We have 315 Racers registered and there will be more coming for this race on sunday who haven't registered. We have quite a ridiculously low number of volunteers so far. This is a massive event on the cycling ulster calendar. Please do what you can to help YOUR club run a successful event. A couple of hours help goes a long long way.
Thanks
