Sorry Davy, just wanted to ask if any of the sat run thinking about this run? I'd be keen to do it.

Saturday it is then. Book your own tickets online. If we get enough we can split in to 2 groups and meet up for lunch. Need to arrange where to meet up and cycle down to ferry.

Sounds like a grand day out. Will get ferry booked today. Davy, can you ring the Scottish authorities and get the sunny weather booked?

Thought the jinx had bit again this year... just back to work after a bout of Flu. Signed up and ready to go. :-*Think a few people missed out. From what I here the Scouts have something going on in Scotland at the W/E so the ferry got sold out fairly quickly. Pity about that because the weather forecast is for wall to wall sunshine... 20 degrees plus ;D

All set for the morning. Graham, Ruth and I are heading down for about 6.45am. There's a suggested route which have a map for, but if anyone else has ideas, great stuff. According to Stenaline website, there's the facility to store a bag or rucksack at the other side.

What a great we trip we had - 6 of us, Ruth, Graham, Davy, Michael, Ann A and me. Got the 7.30am ferry to Cairnryan, which was full of hundred of wee scouts on their outing, including Luke Annett. We cycled to Portpatrick by Stranrear, KKirkcom, Leswalt and other wee villages, after a lovely lunch sitting outside in the sun in Porpatrick, we heaed back by Sandhill, Mote Wood and stopped for coffee in Stranraer, before heading back to the boat. Stena Line put on a an excellent service couldn't praise them enough. Really efficient, serving hundreds of people food etc. without a hitch or any delay. Staff really helpful and pleasant. Boat was lovely and we'll have to do it again with a bigger group. They're running this offer in Sept so get your thinking caps on. Scenery was beautiful, very like the Glens or the Mournes, plenty of hills, wee back roads, and bluebells everywhere. All went smoothly, excpt for some of us nearly boarding the P&O ferry for Larne!! Isn't that rite Ruth? Me and Michael did the same!
Credits: Davey R - Route Master - excellent job Graham B - official photographer - great job - see Facebook Graham B - King of Strava - identifying segments etc. About 74 miles all in, really great trip. Thanks again to Davey for the route. Everyone was going well, especially Ruth, definitely one to watch!
