Round 4 of the Irish NPS and Round 3 of the Ulster Cross Country take place on Sunday May 26th a Lady Dixon Park Belfast. The course has a few additions to last year and we hope to get another year of fine sunshine, that the riders are used to. Registration has opened and more information can be found on our website. Well done to the Dromara crew at Lady Dixon Park. Barry Van K and Lisa won their races, Ben W finished 3rd, Lewis K also finished 3rd with Zak T 4th. Aaron W had his dad run off his feet when he won the Under 6 supported race. In the big S3 clash John S was well ahead of Brian W. Results and photos up on www.ulsterxc.com

BVK Race Report: Great days racing, though I would say that, wouldn't I? Warm sun, dry trails, and the forecast showers stayed away. I had done the training, I had done the eating and I had taken the repeated "Banger" banter since early in the series. XC racing is a funny sport. Everyone in S2 is taking it seriously but still on the line everyone is at least trying to have the craic in between seeing all new record high resting heart rates as the adrenalin pumps and the nerves twist your gut into knots. Its never helped by Grimley doing the job of Commaisaire and holding you in the pen for a good 10 minutes from when you have been gridded... Anyway, he finally blew his whistle, or shouted, or clapped his hands or something, I can never remember what the start signal is. I usually realise its started when I see the bloke next to me clipping in and opening a few bike lengths on me. But I must have had a false start there at lady dixon. Powered it as hard as I could and got the coveted HOLE SHOT... Hole Shot! by barry_kellett99, on Flickr Did my best to ignore the rabble and hoards chasing close behind and concentrated on hitting the first section of trail which came quickly as hard and smooth as I could to put pressure on those behind. Having nobody in front of you means only you can screw it up for yourself. So off I set, onto the grass, going as hard as could, taking it through the corners as hard as I dared and glanced behind to see a little gap had opened up of maybe 10-15seconds. So I decided a good race tactic would be to continue to do this for the duration. It worked. Well done to Lisa on a storming win! Only deciding to take part on the morning of the race I think? Ben on another excellent result in a very strong field. The two ahead of him are under investigation and have to produce their birth certs at the next race. I am pretty sure both of them are shaving already. Excellent results from all our youth racers in surprisingly large fields of racers. Good strong results from all the rest of the racers. I can confirm that Herr Wilson is still talking to Shanksy. I think Big Peter is still talking to Adi B? Good showings from Nathan and Robert in a seriously large S4 field too. See you all at Slade Valley then in 2 weeks time?

Looks like I may have bitten off more than I can chew with the move to s3. Maybe I'll start the next few beside Nathan and see how that goes.....
