Important – Venue Change For Beggs/McGreevy Races
Due to unforeseen road works on Beggs / McGreevy Memorial race circuit Banbridge CC have had to make the decision to move the location of the race due to take place this Saturday, 27th April. The organising team have worked hard to come up with a challenging circuit which they hope will live up to the well-known reputation of this long standing race.
The revised circuit starts and finishes in the village of Kinallen, but still very much remains in the local area of the traditional race circuit – so no sighs of relief at the thought of avoiding the hills associated with ‘ the Beggs’! With the Tour of Ulster and Ras fast approaching the A1’s & 2’s should find this an excellent race for build-up to those events.
As previously communicated the aim was to have sufficient numbers to accommodate separate races for the A1’s & 2’s and the A3’s. We’re delighted to see a healthy number of A1 & 2’s allowing us to host a dedicated race for them, leaving the A3’s with an opportunity to score some points for themselves.
Separate races for under 16 boys and under 16 girls will also be hosted, both of which will act as qualifying rounds towards the Youth Olympics. Under 14’s and under 12’s will also be accommodated for with the under 12’s race being held on a separate circuit to the main race. A full break down of the races, including number of laps and total distances is listed below.
Race headquarters will be in the village of Warringsford where the race will roll out at approx. 11:45am to start in the nearby village of Kinallen, approximately 2 miles away. Sign-on will be open from 9:30 and closing at 11:15 sharp. Presentations along with the usual welcome refreshments will be held back at the race headquarters in Warringsford following the completion of the final race.
