Great wee run today with Gavin, Chris, Ron, Ivan, Nathan, "Wee Wee"Ryan, Conor (to Strangford), Bernie, Alwynne, Badger, Peter and myself. We headed out towards Crossgar where the first waggling got underway with Ryan taking the spoils after an excellent bit of wheelsuckin, and after the aul fellas had to initiate the lead-out, well done Badger.
Another bit of a dig to Killyleagh where we picked up Peter who was immaculately turned out in his new club shorts. 1st prize for style and appearance again!! Majorca will be such a fashion show this week
After a short crossing at Strangford, where we had to explain to Ryan that it wasn't the isle of man ferry,
we stopped off for a quick top up in Portaferry. We were then
caught behind a few vintage tractors until we reached Kircubbin, thereafter, it was a blur with Gavin, Ron, Chris, Ryan and Nathan giving it a lash into a sometimes tough wee crosswind. On the ards 10K TT route we averaged 26.3mph, and an avg from Kircubbin to ards of 24.5mph into a cross wind, well done the boys at the front!
After this Ryan was a bit sleepy, so we headed home, only giving it a hard lift coming into B'hinch were Gavin showed his true colours and all that turbo work came to the fore . Well done to Bernie and Alwynne who rode strongly all day through some tough and windy conditions. I had 70 mile done as I had to go out to the hilt this morning for a pep talk from Gavin and the Badger and it seemed to help!! ;D
A great day out and strong riding from all the young guns and the aul hands too
Roll on them mountains this week ,
Ps, we went back to Mauds where Ronnie bought all the........................................................... sorry that was another day I was thinking of
