Ronan, Garry, Bobby and I set off just after 7 pm on a mild, calm night down the tow path. We had a new plan in mind for this night. Skip the Ring etc and head into Belfast to the race course for a sneaky practice. Picked up Mark F at Shaw's. Good steady run down to the Ormeau bridge and then onto the course. Bobby waited in the car park while the rest of us put in a couple of laps. The course is getting even drier!! Didn't see anyone else about. Back home the same way. At Shaw's we left Bobby and headed up Cardiac Hill. Garry pipping me at the top. On down through the trees onto some of the new trails (Ronan guiding us) to get back to the tow path again. Steady push back with Ronan struggling a little. We kept it steady until the lights of the Civic Centre. I didn't think Garry would go for it, but he did. He got a few bike lengths on me before I reacted. I got him though ;D Good workout. Roll on the race this Sunday. Get your entries in!! BTW, the Park Run series is starting in Wallace Park this Saturday 09:30 ( www.parkrun.org.uk). 5 km. |
