Big thanks must go to Lisa herself and Phil O'Neill. Phil lent me his cross bike and Lisa Manned the pit area despite being in agony with her back. I had thought it may be handy to have the spare bike should I break anything on my own, but after 1 1/2 laps of the race I could feel my own bike rapidly gaining weight so ditched it and picked up the clean one, astounding difference. Switched bikes must have been at least 5 times Lisa?
Clean bike ready to go each time. Thank you so much.
Was a tough race, I ended up running a lot of sections from early on as it was clearly quicker. The mud had started to dry a lot like our own fine moira type so was sticking everywhere.
Some good battles going on throughout the race.
Fantastic Result for Roger Aiken, taking the big prize up North. Peter McConville taking the Vets and David Montgomery taking Juniors. Good result for Cycling Ulster.

Great result Barry ! Beating that Luke Ireland boyo too A tough muddy course. Great atmosphere. Great days racing. Fantastic result for Roger Aiken. The commentator was superb. A real sense of occasion. Well done to Cuchulainn CC on putting on the event. I was pleased with my race. I got a couple of scalps I was after. Well done Lisa on completing your race. From somewho who couldn't stand up straight to finishing that course. Great effort! I'm gonna miss cross racing. Must get fitter for next year!

Yes Martin, The thursday night towpath run will probably morph into actual running...
Fair play to Luke though, his bike weighed about 3 stone at the end. But a beating is a beating, and he took a beating!

Yeah, 5 changes sounds about right. I got dirtier in the pits than I ever have racing!! I'd says we've learned lots for next season. Dromara CC domination in 13/14 season!

I'll be running a series of Pit training sessions towards the end of the summer for the kids with a view to picking the best for the new Dromara CX Performance Pit Crew team... £5 per adult rider using the pits, split between Dromara CC's little helpers afterwards. Places on the Pit team are limited. PM me a short written piece as to why you think you should be considered. No more than 500 words. ;D

Well done Barry. Which is sweeter? 10th place or beating Luke?

Well done Barry. Which is sweeter? 10th place or beating Luke? 10th Place and bringing back 1 UCI point would have been sweet. 11th was good still and beating Luke was the Icing He will be flat out now to make sure he can get one back in April when the XC starts ine earnest!

I got 30 UCI points after my first CX race, which was the nationals in Lurgan Park a couple of years ago. I'd have preferred Tesco Clubcard points.
