Well I can't just let Barry and Lisa do all the cyclo-cross riding for the club (hint Marty McA, Davy C, Ronnie...). I went and got one myself. Happy Christmas to me ;D Now to get ready for the last two races of the season. Gonna be fun...

There's plenty of fun to be shared around. What did you get?
Marty McA had a go, but spent more time in hedges. Davy talked a lot about having a go, but I think he is building up to next season? I thought Ronnie had completely retired from CX but could he be tempted back??

A Giant. Two wheels, with gears. Lots of mud clearance. Reasonable comfortable to carry on the shoulder. Other than that I've little additional knowledge. It's all new to me. My game plan: Stick it on the turbo, do some sessions on it, change the tyre and show up to the Dungannon race. Don't pre-ride the course (as usual) and then see how I get on when the whistle blows. Scream in a high pitched voice and curse every bump and sharp turn.

Sounds a very professional way to go.
Giant TCX I assume (unless you recently got on the rabobank team). Great bikes!

This is quite a disturbing thread Martin! I think we have lost you to the other side. Good luck! I did not realise you took your dismal performance at Larne so badly. Ho! Ho! Ho!

I am worried he will like the new cycling position. As an expert in all things off road Barry, will Martin be allowed his baggy shorts, knee pads and elbow pads at the x race. I was going to the nationals to see Aitken against Seymour but there may be other spectacles.

Ohmygoodness. No baggies allowed in CX. Road gear or skin suits only. No exceptions!!
