Round 6 takes place at Seacourt this Sunday. A mud fest last year but I had a great battle with Brian W. Thankfully finished ahead of him Pre-registration is open. See www.ulstercyclocross.com for details about the race and how to register.

The forecast looks dry for the weekend. I'm still expecting a mud bath though!
Keep the entries coming in. Great hospitality from Team Madigan.

The results are in for this one already. A good result for me. 11th place. Took out some of the big hitters..... Who were having bike/engine issues.

First I've heard Gary. I don't believe it though, if you can ride round fields in the dark you should be able to make it round during the day without falling off!

What a race, Oh... What a race. The best and worst thing about cyclocross racing is that you will know within about 2 or 3 minutes of Martin blowing his wee whistle at the start line how your race is going to go.
This was most definitely not my finest hour it has to be said. My legs were on fire and not responding at all, one of those days. Just not good enough.
The highlight of the race was when Roger lapped me, slowed up a bit and let me draft him for a few minutes! What a guy. Legs of iron but a heart of gold. Unfortunately, Rogers taking it easy pace is still alarmingly hard to match and I lost him in no time.
The course was great, really great given the small area to play with.
And yes, Coach Bailie has a new training venue and an intense crash training programme for me to try and salvage something from the race in 2 weeks at cookstown. Go Coach Bailie!

I saw Roger "stop" for a chat with Barry. Wondered what was going on then he took off! What a guy indeed!

The conversation was one way, with a lot of uncontrollable panting from myself
