Heavy rain in the hour before the riders met meant that the tow path will be one long puddle!! 5 out tonight, Alan, Garry, Michael, Kyle and Stefan. I had to give it a miss again Perhaps one of them will post something about how it went. They are a bit shy.

The rain had passed by the time we were ready to leave, it was a chilly night as i decided to put an extra layer on Stefan thought it was warm and took his coat OFF!!!. We set of at seven sharp Stefan and I leading the pack. As Martin predicted it wasnt long before we were dodging substaintial puddles. At the "pee stop" Alan and Stefan lead to the footbrodge, all over safe ( Alan walking:) ). Alan kept us at a steady pace to the Giants ring. No sprints tonight we meandered across and down nettle lane (note to self wear longs in future I managed to pick up a few wee stings !@*%.) It was the usual nice run to Minnowburn and on to Shaws Bridge, I led through the gate and up the climb. Alans excuse for being slow was he had a bad hamstring .We had a steady run to vomit ridge we all climbed in a bunch "NO CHALLENGERS". Gary, Michael and myself reached the top together, Stefan and Alan only seconds behind. Bravery award goes to Alan for conquering vomit ridge with his poor wee sore hamstring. awww. No stopping and off for the loop round the carpark, it was quite uneventfull everyone just enjoying Alans relaxed pace. When we got to the towpath on our way to the meadows Alan and Stefan decided they would head back (Stefan was cold SHOCK). Gary Michael and I headed to the meadows. I nearly sent Gary into the hedge on the first climb as i didnt hear him yelling LEFT. he had a better run at it than me. Sorry Gary!!!.All through the meadows and after a short debate we decided to leave out Cardiac hill as Mary Peters is blocked, we thought next week we will try and find a way through the building works. How hard can it be?. Gary shot off along the Towpath and before Michael and I realised he was out of sight, we pushed and caught him but Michael was fading so gary got away. Michael and I were back at the cars for nine. Although quite uneventful it was a great run out, we had twenty miles on the clock and thanks to the rain we were gutters from head to toe. As martin would say "Looking foward to next week".
