www.stickybottle.com/uncategorized/mackin-takes-international-track-gp-omnium-as-ortiz-sweeps-the-boards/Completed my first international track race on Saturday at Sundrive in Dublin. The competition was fierce with 2 ex world champions competiting . Having no expectations was a good thing!! All was going quite well in the omnium until the standing 500 TT. I frozen when the gate was released and forgot to do everthing that Terry Mackin (Banbridge - Omnium winner) had told me!! After the omnium was over it was around 1 pm and the elite womens scratch race and keirin were still to go. I finished middle of the bunch in the scratch and the keirin was run over heats with the first 2 riders going through and I came in third. It was 4 pm by the time I had finished and I was exhausted . A great experience and I learnt alot. Hopefully many more to come

Well done Mary. Sounds exhausting. Plenty more to come. Hope the coach from Dublin didn't shout and swear too much!
