Road race on tomorrow night.

The scratch lads are taking on most of the timekeeping and marshalling duties but there aren't enough of them to cover all the points. If you can help then please do. It is a reasonable quiet circuit but we need proper cover at each corner.

Just to clarify, after further discussion. The race on Tuesday will be as per the first round of the league where there will be points for participants and volunteers but not on the same league system.

The riders will all get the same 25 points for completing the race (not the sliding scale as per the other races with 50 being the maximum points awarded to the winner). The marshals will receive 20 points as usual and the timekeepers 27 as before.

This race will not count towards the race trophy at the end of the year.

Many thanks to Gavin for the gesture of the bottle of bubbly. Hope this is a fun event and that it encourages others to give the road racing a go.

I'll bring along the podiums for a nice photoshot at the end of the race...

one of the best races this year ..............Ted Mckibben ripped the race apart from lap 3 taking prime on lap 5 , KOH lap 7 and the race win on lap 8.........hard riding by 2/3 brought times down but with Ted riding so strong no one was gona catch him..........well done to Mr Bryson on his first ever 2nd place (even without his wing man Stevie)and a fantastic ride by Marty Mcnulty showing he had the class to take a third place in the race

well done to Mr Van Kellett who broke from his bunch to take the prize for most aggressive rider of the night

;D ;D ;D Hard luck to Tommy Downey crashing out at the half way mark and to young Zako ready to make his move on the last corner touched a wheel and came down he still crossed the line carrying his broken bike......... .........also hard luck to Gary Bailey who had a technical issue on the rear hills ..... not sure which hill but think it was a problem with number 2 he said ................better luck next time ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gavin, great job sorting out the prizes and groups etc. Excellent night. Stayed dry.

Was really enjoying last night's race until making contact with the ground the group kept a good pace throughout each lap, and kept together on the climbs with a few people having a dig near the top. Adrenaline played a part in my fall, Marty attacked at the top of the last descent and I went with him and took a risk to take the corner tight As long as the bikes fine I'm fine, big thanks to all who came to help me off the ground especially Conor Rice for checking me over and to Gary Gibson for fixing the bike for me. Much appreciated, and thanks for the encouragment while I carried the bike over the line ;D ;D ;D

Great race, thanks to all the Marshalls, Martin and especially Gavin for making it happen.

The missus was eyeing up my new Jersey when I got home... "But it's pink, it's a girls Jersey?"

Luckily it stretches well over the 6 pack and I rode it in to work this morning to kill any ideas she has about stealing it.

Really enjoyed that race last night even though it was brutal, it seems a clerical error meant I was in Group 3! (Need to speak to MG 'bout that)
