Wanted: Scrap or very cheap bike (Winter commuter)

Hi all,

Looking for a bike to knock up as a winter commuter. Just changed my racer, so don't want anything fancy. After an old scrapper that I can ride to work through winter without worrying about.

No 105 or Ultegra here. I'm talking sub £40 scrappers.

Ideally after some old mountain bike or racer that's about to be thrown in the dump.

Any bike and any condition considered.

haha, I'm not that bad...mind you the garage is getting more and more like Steptoe's yard every day.
