I propose that we consider and debate the merits of sending away the riders in our TT's in the order of fastest first down to slowest last.
My rational is twofold 1) Riders less likely to be impeded 2) Increased safety.
With 40+ riders regularly competing now there are occasions where faster riders are catching and overtaking several riders during the TT which can have safety implications.
Traffic is backing up behind often more than one slower rider and the faster rider coming up from behind is being impeded and in the heat of battle is strongly encouraged to take risks such as overtaking a line of cars. I have seen this happen.
At the turn you will regularly see multiple riders bunched up which can make matters more difficult for the marshalls and increase risk.
I personally feel that reversing the order could serve to alleviate a lot of these issues.
Discuss!

I'm keeping time tomorrow so I am happy to trial and see if it makes a difference. Seems sensible

All the fast boys would need to be there early!
It would also mean a longer wait if we put the slowest riders off last.
Agree that it would be better to have an order of cyclist based on speed.
However some of the top riders do not want to start together....They'd perfer to put a slower rider between them and the chaser.
Food for thought. No harm in trying.

You could try a sort of half-way house idea.
If you look at last weeks results there are 13 riders who managed under 25 minutes. Let these top guys go first (in whatever order they prefer) then for the rest it's slowest to fastest. Until the very end there isn't a 30+ second gap between consecutive riders so overtaking should be minimal and it shouldn't take as long as it would if the slowest were held to the end.
It would, of course, need a bit more organisation.
Feel free to pick holes in my logic.

I am planning to be there to marshall, all being well. I'll drop by the start line to collect my orders.
Not familiar with the Spa Lake TT; where abouts is the start line?

My masterplan didn't make a blind bit of difference LOL I blame all those shy/modest guys who didn't like to admit how fast they are
