Not cycling related .... but it may earn you brownie points as you occupy the children with local fun activities over June weekend ;D
On June long weeekend ( Sat 2nd/ 3rd June ) events ,....Portaferry is hosting a fun weekend called the Turn O tide festival .

Maritime Festival events with something for every age and most events are FREE . There is seaweed squelching, puppet shows, open touch tanks etc and also things at a very reasonable price too ... a boat trip (very reasonable - £10 for a family ticket for 1.5 hours )
....... but book in advance ... as I am sure they will go quickly!
