57 registered, 19 from Dromara CC We may need more motorcycle outriders. Anyone know of any 'sensible' motorbikers who would like a free lunch in Strangford?

Great day out at the Coastal today, fine weather for cycling, big turn out (approx 240). Super job by the tea stop crew. Hope all riders enjoyed the food.
Only 2 bike incidents, one requiring an ambulance. We wish Wes a speedy recovery.
Many thanks to: Stevie & Cathy W, Brendan, Bernie and Aoife M, Martin B, Jim, Ghostriders, Grimley family, John C, Conor R, Michelle and family for the food, Dromara Village football club (hope I have not forgotten anyone. Text me if I have!).

Hi Martin, Been cycling for a year now and decided to try a sportive, really enjoyed the day, found a bit of company along the road into Strangford and it helped me along.
Well done to your club, great scenery along the coastal road. Got the sportive bug and looking forward to the next one. Parky

I have heard from Wes.
He got home after 4 hours in hospital. No broken bones thankfully. Lots of scraps and bruises. He wanted to thank all those who were around helping to get him sorted.

Thanks Martin, home shaken but not stirred, presently trying to breath as little as possible and take the painkillers with some red wine......
Great event and well organised, just a pity I'm thanking everyone for all their help at the scene in Ballynahinch - it was much appreciated, and thanks Robin from LL Rouge who actually visited me in the Royal !

As usual a very enjoyable day, weather was sunny but cool . Great turnout from many individuals and from the local clubs in particular WDW, TVR, Banbridge, Phoenix, North Down East Antrim and of course ourselves. A good steady pace to the tea stop (except for the bit when traffic split the group in Ardglass and Gary "Cancellara" Bailey had to do his thing , well you hardly expect me to drive it ;D. after the tea stop a large group of mainly Dromara & TVR rode together (the narrow roads between Ringdufferin and Whiterocks are not suited to a large bunch riding at a pace as Ronnie found out ) As we went towards Lisbane and Saintfield the distance and pace told on many as the bunch reduced significantly. At Ballynahinch the pace was upped for the run home with the Hinch/dromara road doing the natural selection. average for the day was 21mph/80miles. thanks to all who made this happen.

Well, now that we have all had time to reflect, can you please email me any ideas you may have for how to improve the Coastal run again for next year. These ideas I would document and then we can try to address them in the preparations for the Coastal 2013. I'm keen to hear from club members, non-club members and those who helped to organise the day. Please email your suggestions to martin@dromaracc.co.ukMany thanks
