A Wednesday night for a change as Alan was busy tomorrow night. Alan, Dennis, Stewart and me. A lovely evening, clear skies, no wind but it was cold. No problem with the cold once we got going. Over the bridge and up towards Giant's Ring. Stewart holding on well - still recovering from his back injury back in November. A nice run through to Belvoir. Dennis mentioned he was looking at a map to try to find a route from Belvoir to the Lagan Gateway Bridge. We decided to give this a go. It felt like a trail quest but without the map or points. Some muddy sections, some hike-a-bike, past some torn down gates, but we did manage to find our way to the bridge. And how great it looked in the bright lights from the bikes with the tennis centre off to our right. We headed back to Shaw's bridge and then took the middle route again into the woods, onto the MTB trails and up and around the Mary Peter's track. Up onto Malone Road, through Lady Dixon Park, back down to the tow path. No headwind this week. A nice steady pace back to the Civic Centre. I wasn't in a body bag this week and managed to clean the bike!! A great night.
