So the Club League Road Races are finished and the Club League TT's finished last week so it can only mean that its Hill Climbing Season.
Good News is that we have an iconic Hill Climb for you to test yourself. Alas due to safety concerns (lack of light, terrain, temperature) that for this year we are going from the bottom of Dree Hill to the Slieve Croob Car Park making it only 1.8miles - The Route can be found here
So what is on over to tempt you to take on this awesome challenge well first thing is first I have it from a good source that last years female hill climbing champion is injured and wont be taking part. This has opened the door for a new Female Hill Climbing Champion this year - with strong performances last week from Wannita, Linda F and Emma J mean it could be a close fight.
The Horner Trophy is up for grabs and the current holder Zak Hanna I believe is ready to defend this - I hear he is still smarting after not being the first Dromara Man up Divis so an opportunity to reclaim his throne. Having said that the best junior Hill Climber could be very interesting with Jack Ferguson hard in training for this.
For the rest of us who will just be delighted to make it to the top there will be a selection of very VALUABLE SPOT PRIZES
The Tea and Coffee will be in Kings at the Bridge rather than standing up at the cold car park - Spot prizes will be given out in there so if you are not there you dont get a prize(Time Keepers will be included in the spot prize give away). I recommend parking in Dromara and riding out.
First rider will be off at 7pm SHARP and riders leaving every 30secs. Please have at least a Rear Light!!
I Lisa and Martin as timekeepers and maybe a bike holder and several Hill Climbers.
This is a proof of concept Hill Climb with the ultimate goal of creating an iconic Hill Climb up to Slieve Croob so come on and give it a go.
See you there
