So a new concept for this year is the Aussie Pursuit - Its a sort of handicapped race but it is on an out and back course so just like a TT. Marshall requirement is 8 Marshals - TimeKeepers 1/2 at teh start/finish, 3 Marshals at McCoys Petrol Station & 3 at the Roundabout at Castlewellan. Marshals so far are: Bryce H, Colin McG, Graham McC, Stephen I The Roundabout will be the turn around and will not be closed so it is your responsibility to take your time to navigate as you would if you were out on a normal cycle. If the marshals feel you were taking too many risks ie put yourself or your fellow riders in danger you will be DQ'd. STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE ROAD - NO EXCEPTIONS. If there is a car or tractor in front you must wait until it clears out of the way - failure to do this will result in a DQ. These rules are as black and white as they come. Rumours have been floating about regarding Eddie Doyle has been chatting to the handicap fairies and I hear it will be worth being in Group 1 & 2. A great car parking spot will be the Tesco car park and ride around to the start/finish which will be just past the carriageway bridge. Full Route can be found hereGroups and Handicaps to follow.

Ok, so it wasn't an Aussie Pursuit, or a 3 up TT. In fact we had a 2 up TT from Banbridge to the Katesbridge straight. 11.1 miles (ish!). Many thanks to Marty McAnulty for timekeeping, the Matthews for just being there and looking cool (!), the marshals at McCoy's garage - Andrew F, Colin McG and Graham McC, the marshals at the turn - Deek, Gary and Noel G. We got away with a dry and bright evening thankfully avoiding the heavy rain showers that were coming across the country all day. Times below.
