Folks, as previously mentioned...
Dromara Club "Super Sunday" Leisure ride this Sunday (2nd) will ride the route of the Hilly in a "dry run" for the event proper a week later.
The idea behind this is to allow the people helping on the day of the actual event to ride the route, but it is a great opportunity to get lots of club members together for a bit of craic and a nice social cycle. Most of the racing bais will have expended their energy racing the Madigan GP the previous day, so hopefully the pace will be nice and steady. We'll follow the 85km "shorter" route, but with an additional loop into Castlewellan for a food stop (there isn't anywhere in Leitrim) so the overall distance will be around 100km (60 miles).
Meet will be at 9.50am in Dromara for a 10am start. We will aim to ride together for the first 15 km until after the Cornmill (numbers permitting), then split into a slower and faster group, re-convening in Castlewellan for food. I'll post a route up in the next day or two.
Please post below if you intend to come, so we can gauge numbers for the food stop.
Cheers!
P.S. we have now got plenty of volunteers for helping out on the day of the Hilly so everyone else please pre-enter and ride the event if you can. Hopefully we can make this year's Hilly bigger and better than ever!
