Dromara CC Open road races - 6th June 2015

Dromara CC will be hosting the Emma McMullen Cup and Ronnie Smyth Trophy Open road races, plus a Womens & Masters race and 3 junior races, at the Bishopscourt race circuit on Saturday 6th June.

This is one of the main "flagship" events for our club, and to make it happen we need as many members as possible to help out on the day, otherwise a small number of people will end up doing all the work. To make it easier to see what needs done when and who will be doing it, we've put together a wee timetable (attached) showing suggested time slots for each task. If every club member who is coming along can commit to doing 2-3 time slots, we'll cover all the required jobs, and nobody will end up having to spend their whole day "working"! The time slots are roughly aligned with each of the different races, so even if you are racing, you can do a couple of slots before and/or after your race.

In the same way as we had some "roadies" helping out at Rostrevor, it would be great if some MTB'ers could spare an hour or to come along and help the event run smoothly. You could even have a go at one of the races; DCC members with Limited Competition licences can take part.

Many thanks to all the club members who came along to help out today. I really appreciated having so many helpers to pitch in. A great team effort everyone. I think it turned out great. I'd could happily run these every week.

I have special thanks to hand out, sorta like "employee of the week" - Colin McG for marshalling the cross over, Josuha for manning the lap board, bell and flag in every conceivable weather condition without fail, Emma for ensuring that the sign on went well, sheets got to where they were needed etc. All these guys had support crew who were invaluable.
It it a great place. And at the end the sun shone. What more could we ask for???
