Round 20 - Harry Ferguson Road Race - 14th August 2014

Well it is Round 20 out of 25 Club League Rounds and the league table is getting tight at the top. This is the last Club Road Race of the year.

With Martin taking an unsanctioned holiday it will be left to his minions to try and keep this together.

I have all the equipment for Thursday night. I was hoping to race but if we don't have the bodies I'll do head marshal and timekeeper as well as tea/coffee as the slaves (I mean junior members) are on holiday with their Dad. With Colin not being able to make it are there any other experienced timekeepers? Without Martin there things probably won't run as smoothly as they usually do, so I'll be down early to start sign on etc. Can someone help me with groups etc. so that we can hopefully get everyone started on time?

I was well up for this one after The Badgers self promotional big talk last Friday night, but I'll let Zako put it up to him instead as I am sure he will be sand bagging in his group and thus stand a better chance.

Surely a case of mistaken identity with myself being named in Group 3 instead of 2? Considering i didn't ride the Annahilt RR at all, where 3 of my usual Group 2 compatriots filled the Podium + have managed to retain their place in G2 for this race. Unless of course my mightily impressive 28.58 on the Dundrum Line since then(well beaten by 2 of said Podium dwellers on the night)has influenced this decision! As it happens it's a moot point, i'll not be racing as i have to look after my 3year old daughter tomorrow night. We'll both be coming over to watch though + if there's any way i can help out whilst keeping her safe at the same time i'll certainly do my best.

I don't know how Martin does it every week - that was harder than racing! TWENTY FIVE MINUTES TO FILL THOSE FLASKS! Thanks a million to everyone who helped, especially Trevor, who stepped up to be head marshal and kept everyone in line and did a course inspection.

Well done to everyone but a special mention to young Jack who kept going after the chequered flag to complete his full quota of 7 laps, a fantastic ride.
