Ok cycling friends. Dromara CC's leisure event is on next Sunday - the Mourne Sportive and Hilly Leisure Runs.
Many of you have done this event before and you know how good the route and the feeding is.
Super routes - lunch in Leitrim GAA with great food donated by Michael from TVR, burgers laid on at the football club afterwards.
If you pre-enter (and pay) you get to ride this event for just £15.
If you leave it to the morning of the event then it will be £25.
If you are not sure enter now. Refunds are available before 6pm on Saturday.

APPEAL FOR HELPERS
Events like our leisure cycle this weekend do not just happen by themselves. Volunteers are needed to help out.
Road Markers Tonight we have some club members willing to head out and mark the roads. We need more to do this so if you can help out we are meeting at 6:30 at the Pheasant in Annahilt.
Sign on crew and traffic control On Sunday we need helpers for sign on and to sort out car parking and traffic control. Sportive sign on crew from 7:30, Hilly sign on crew from 8:10. If you are part of the sign on crew you can still take part in the event. We just need you to show up early (and ready to cycle) and then help out at the sign on desk. Traffic control and car parking volunteers would need to be on site from 8:20. The Hilly event kicks off at 9:30
Tea stop volunteers The tea stop in Leitrim will be open from 10 am to 1:30 pm. If you are not riding please consider coming down and helping out here.
Spelga water stop We would normally have a water stop at the top of Spelga. If you fancy looking after this one please let us know. Times to be confirmed.
Football club - returning riders Helpers required at the football club to meet the riders as they finish. Hand out gift and food vouchers. From 1pm.

A lovely evening for marking the roads. Many thanks to Gavin for marking the 85/125/Sp to Dree Hill Chris & Stephen for marking Dree to Leitrim then 125 home Gary & Graham for marking the Hilly 60 to Leitrim and the Hilly 60/85 home.
Peter and I worked from Leitrim and marked the 125 route, up over Spelga (great views) and then back to the tea stop (going the opposite direction). We then went back down the road and marked the Sportive from just below the tea stop back to the football club.
That leaves just one section to be marked and that is from Ballywelly Road on the Sportive route to Meelmore.
Tonight's weather is looking to be dry. Would anyone be available to mark this section? I have the route instructions and we can sort you out with paint. It is a 2 person job. One drives and navigates the other jumps out and marks the road.

Big thanks to Martin and the crew for another well run event. The tea stop was a life safer this year. 'Hats off' to anyone who did the sportive this yaer. Many thanks to Beverly & Ruth who kept me company.. they never stopped chattering all day which took my mind of the cold and wet. Ruth rode the whole way with no back brake.. scarrrrryyyy stuff on some of the decents.

Thanks Davy for your summary of our Hilly run !! As you know Beverley and myself really appreciated your navigation and company yesterday ! We are definitely the Hard Core Sunday Crew !! You will be pleased and relieved to know that I have purchased new break pads today. I really must take ownership in the relation to the maintance of my bike and not just rely on the "Bike Fairy" that lives in our garage !!

Davy you deserve a medal for being our personal guide, listening to us gossiping all day and for getting us round in one piece!
