Is there a group / groups heading out this Saturday?
I have a newcomer to the club who is keen to join in. His name is Alan and he is a triathelete (he was quicker than me last Saturday up at the Roe Valley Sprint triathlon so I'm sure he'll have no issue with a leisure run).
He is keen to get more miles in on the bike.
Please post here.
Thanks

Hoping to be there myself, shock horror! Anyone any idea what the route/distance is likely to be? I think there was talk at one stage of doing the Strangford loop....? Weather forecast looks promising

Great day out today, too many to mention, welcome to Alan and Paul!!! Headed to hilltown avoiding every hill we could (thanks Noel).over to Rostrevor via santas grotto and a wickedly pacey run to Newcastle, thanks to the Badger and Graeme c who coaxed me into slipping off early with them for a TTT. Quick tea stop and we then split into two groups for the run home, with Ronnie opting for the B run, it is his Birthday and Tanya had warned him to conserve his energy, which he did all day apparently (only sleggin Ron, Happy birthday) , great riding by all with Graham and Fritz clocking up over the ton.

Fantastic day out. Arrived home and did the usual macho c...p! No Gary B not that........with great pride I informed Mrs W our stats 86miles at 19mph over a hilly parcoursetc But as a typical women she had to trump it. Lying on the sun lounger, shattered. She informed me she had taken her bike from the rafters of our garage, with relatively soft tyres and cycled 14 miles at an average of 12.2mph........Zoncalon or what? Now take me out for my tea. This is how it rolls in the Wallace household. P.S. Ronnie have a fab birthday!!!

Bloody hard work for me today guys for my 1st Saturday run - won't need rocked tonight!
Just wanted to thank everyone for making Alan and I feel so welcome today on our first run and for the encouragement and help along the way. Was worried about holding some of the guys back but really appreciate those who held back to pull us along. The Dromara way eh!!
Must admit I was never more pleased to see Ballynahinch than I was about 4pm this afternoon.
Thanks again. Paul

I'd like to echo Paul's comments. Thanks for making a very tough day very enjoyable and for all the tips/encouragement etc. Really appreciate the guys dropping back to help us go the distance and maintaining the ''no one left behind ethos' - looking forward to the next one! Alan

Well done to Paul and Alan, great day out, fantastic weather and a great route. Good to see so many out for the Saturday run, everyone got what they needed and no one left behind, classic DCC. There was even conversation about the stunning scenery at a few points and discussion on the local flora and fauna.....

Agreed with everyone's comments. A graat day for some big miles and welcoming members (initiating) to the club. A great little TTT with Stephen W and Gaz B from kilkeel to Newcastle. Didn't enjoy trying to hold Gavins wheel on the run in to Ballynahinch, turns out I couldn't, that man is in fine form. Great to see so many faces out, good to catch up with everyone and also discuss future team tactics (dromara quickstep train) ? Well done to alan and Paul on finishing the run, as Chris said, we have all been there. Good luck to all racing next week, not sure I can make it but will know by mid week.
