We hope you are all inspired after watching the Giro d’Italia. We have been lucky enough to get our hands on one of the pink and black Giro Stage 1 Cycling Jerseys and everyone who enters Maracycle before 31 May will be added to the draw to be in with a chance of winning this special shirt. Go to www.cooperationireland.org/maracycle/howtoenter for information on how to enter online or print entry forms. For a photograph of the cycle jersey have a look on the Maracycle Facebook page www.facebook.com/maracycle.
Full information on Maracycle can be found at www.cooperationireland.org/supportus/2014/maracycle/information where you can also see a sample design of this year’s t-shirt, medal and cycle shirt. In celebration of 30 years of biking across borders, we have gone with a turquoise and orange theme so we hope you like it.
Last year entries were slow in coming in so we are delighted to report that this year entries received are considerably higher than this time last year. Wouldn’t it be great to see 1,200 cyclists at the start line in Belfast, the same number that took part back in 1984. With your help we can get there. Please tell you friends, family and colleagues to ‘Get on Yer Bike’ for Co-operation Ireland.
We have a number of beds booked at Dublin City University on Saturday night but as these are filling up fairly quickly, (would estimate that around two thirds are already booked) we can’t guarantee that there will be many left after the end of May. Advice is, if you want the accommodation package at DCU which includes bed, evening meal, entertainment in the bar area and breakfast the following morning, then get your booking in asap. There are 2 World Cup Football Matches on Saturday 28 June and these will be shown on the big screen in the bar.
Dublin One Day Special Package: Belfast to Dublin – 108 miles
€100 Includes entry fee, accommodation in Belfast Friday, coach and bike transfer from Dublin.
Any questions on the event, please email events@cooperationireland.org.
Good Luck with your training.
