Yea, I was 5th In senior 1. Reasonably satisfied given my weeks preparation for the race. Quite a long way off the pace of the top 4. Struggled badly on lap 1 and switched off on lap 5 when I knew 4th was unobtainable and 6th wasn't going to catch me. The other 3 laps were reasonable enough although still a little off the pace required. Heavy rain made it very heavy going on a lot of sections, most of the new climbs were unrideable, especially in the middle of stuttering race traffic, so running was the order of the day.
I was gridded on the front row of 5 but was well down by the first section after a pretty bad start, I was going backwards and ungridded men like Kinning, McKee and Adair were steaming past. Got settled down midway through the lap and started to make my way back up the field from about 12th position. Most of my race was spent tussling with Lewis Ferguson for 6th place, finally managing to distance him on lap 4 a little and keep it going on lap 5.
Well done all the guys in the other races, especially Gibson Chambers on his return to racing. Great result for having been out for so long.
Good job we still have Ben to claim some podium kudos as well

At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old fart who has developed/always had the mindset (If I'm not winning, I'm not playing) I shall say only this about the race on Sunday..... No Sir, I didn't like it.
