On Tommy Givan road race day May 17th Maryland Wheelers will run an Under 16's road race over 3 laps of the course starting at 0900 from the Comber Road church just outside Hillsborough.
The race has been very generously sponsored by the families of Maryland veterans Gerry McCann, Tommy Givan and club president Billy Stewart and will be called
'THE McCANN-GIVAN-STEWART YOUTH CLASSIC'
Along with the trophy there will be medals for the 1st 2nd and 3rd, vouchers for £50 £30 and £20, donated by Gerry's son Paul McCann of Maneely/McCann accountants....
Slane Cycles have also very generously donated a jersey and shorts kit for a prime prize and Maryland will also provide prime prizes.
There is no pre entry for this race but a reply to me showing your club members interest would be beneficial. (phil.holland4@btopenworld.com)
SIGN-ON WILL BE FROM THE HILLSBORO VILLAGE CENTRE FROM 8 AM !!!
DIRECTIONS TO IT ARE, INTO HILLSBOROUGH CENTRE AND TAKE THE ROAD TO BALLYNAHINCH, THE VILLAGE CENTRE IS ON THE LEFT AFTER 500 METRES, THE START IS FROM THE CHURCH ON THE COMBER ROAD, AFTER SIGN-ON TAKE LEFT OUT OF THE CENTRE, UP THE HILL AND AT LISNAGARVEY HOCKEY CLUB TAKE A LEFT, THE CHURCH IS 200 METRES ON YOUR LEFT.
