Are there any mechanics in club that could look at my 16 year old Cannondale Caad 3 with a 1" threaded headset?
Rust was running out of headset so I got a mechanic to strip it, clean it and rebuilt it day before race. He assured me it was fixed and I'd get another yr out of it.
It clunked and banged scarily the whole race. The reassuring words before race from someone that 'it wouldn't kill me' got me to the finish line.
It's my only bike and need it up and running again quickly if possible.
