This years Third World Cycle was a change from the last couple of years with the riders being greeted with a warm sunny day ............160 riders signed on and were soon away with the help of police outriders and motorbike marshals ........... Out of Downpatrick and the tailwind to Castlewellan kept the pace brisk with most riders finding the bunch that suited them quickly.........................Over the hills to Brynsford and Down into Newcastle for the first refreshment stop in Dundrum Bay where an overexcited Kate bush fan got a bit of a sugar rush from a Mars bar and just fell off his wee bike .........after we got him strapped back on his bike it was off again for the second half with the headwind picking up and keeping the bunch together round the coast to Strangford ..........then the final section over the Saul hills back into Downpatrick to the cricket club for the famous spread of sandwiches , cakes and bun.......many thanks to the Boyle family and all the support crew for a fantastic event...................... And the Kate Bush fan finished safely in the bunch
