Barry, you seem to be the only brave / insane rider from Dromara CC to tackle THE off-road event in Ireland!!! Good luck. I look forward to reading your report on it. Some day..... I'll get a big bike with loads of travel, full body armour, leave my brain, internal organs at home in a jar and then tackle this one  |

Day one. The red bull run chasing gee athertons time. The course is insanely muddy. Once I got some speed up I had shovels of mud being flung in my face with no glasses. Took it relatively easy as I need to stay injury free for the towpath nights of course. I didn't get passed by any of the guys starting behind me and managed to pass a few in front so I at least didn't come last!! Will pull the jersey out tomorrow for my podium photos  It's a relaxed event though for anyone thinking about it in future years. Tomorrow is the heats and main blast runs. Looking forward to it. |
