Anyone heading out on the towpath tonight? I have just received my new Magicshine front light and am keen to try it out!

A pleasant run down the tow path last night. Full moon, clear skies, barely a breathe of wind. I cycled from home to Lambeg and then up to the Civic Centre. Kyle was there on his own. John S arrived later as did Graham B. We were then joined by John's GF Emma on her 29er, as well as Claire and Colin (no helmet tut tut). We all set off at a slow pace down the tow path. The pace was not quite slow enough as we had to stop to let the newbies back on. We all crossed the footbridge and headed towards Minnowburn. From there we set off under Shaw's and into the trees. I let John, Kyle and Graham shoot off up the hills while I escorted the other three along the paths. We let the fast 3 do the first loop on their own while we waited at the crossroads. We then all headed for Vomit Ridge. I had a 'go' but was soon dropped off the back with John (on his single speed) beating Kyle on his full sus up the climb. We all regrouped in the car park before setting off around the big loop. All back to the car park in one piece. We then headed out of the trees and back to the tow path and back to Shaw's. Here the group split. The newcombers cycled on to the footbridge where us four took on Cardiac Hill. I was busted again!!! At Pain Tree I tried shifting down a gear but the chain jumped and I came to a sudden stop, upper thigh crashing nicely into the stem. I set off across the grass to try to catch up to the other three, wheel spinnning on the damp grass. Passed the shadow men and then rejoined the others at the start of the trail. We set off with Kyle leading. John S took the Red route on his own as Kyle lead us three on the Blue route. At the BMX jumps we turned for the tow path and joined the others. We all then cycled back to Lisburn. I let the fast 3 go while I rode along side the newcomers. The pace was good, we were not too far behind the others. A great night's cycling. Roll on next week.
PS I did write a report from last week's cycle but the message board crashed when I hit "Create Post". In summary it was John S, Kyle and me. The lads met me along the path. Kyle was shifting and I was just able to hang onto his back wheel. John S and I were on the CX bikes. We did the same route as above with John domineering the climbs. Back to Shaw's we did two laps of the trails (blue then red). I exited at Lambeg and let John and Kyle sprint back to Lisburn.
