Dromara CC Summer Social night - 26th July 2014

Just putting this post up to let everyone know to save the date in their diary.

Details (where, when, etc) to be confirmed, but the general plan will be to get everyone in the club together for a bit of an evening out.

We want this to be an evening that all club members will enjoy, so let us know what you would like to do. Someone has suggested a roller racing evening, others have suggested a night at the Greyhound racing, others are happy just to head into the big smoke for a few drinks.  Whatever seems the most popular option is what we'll do, so post here with ideas!

Folks, sorry for the delay in letting you know the details of our summer social night. We have decided to go a bit "off piste" and head to Newcastle for this. The proposed venue is O'Hares (Hugh McCanns), starting around 5pm with a BBQ in their garden area (weather permitting). We will have exclusive use of this area until around 8pm. I need to confirm numbers for the BBQ A.S.A.P. Price per head is £10, and I am reliably informed they will put on a good spread for us. Even if you have already accepted the invite on FB, can you leave a comment or reply to this thread to confirm you are still planning to come. We need a minimum of 20 people to secure the venue. Thanks!!

Also, I am hoping to arrange a bus to transport members to and from the social night. Collection points would most likely be Ballynahinch, Anahilt and Dromara, but if there is enough interest we can add another stop. Again, please let me know if you would like to avail of this service ASAP so I can work out how many 50 seater coaches we will need

Bus is booked for Saturday night with Downshire Coaches. We have an 18 seater which will be picking up from Anahilt at around 4.15 and Dromara at 4.30.

Return journey will be picking us up in Newcastle around midnight, and dropping off in reverse order. Price per person will be £10 for the return trip.


I will post a list of names I have down for the bus this evening, but I think there may be 1 or 2 places still available for anyone who would like to join the party!

Lol, no can't take the credit for the band Col, but they were awesome. Shame we couldn't stay for the second part...

If nights out are judged by the severity of the hangover the following day, that was one of the best I've had in a long time Still feeling rough this morning
