Also on tonight from Newry Wheelers:
"Eddie Crory Memorial race next Tuesday 4th June.
This will be run as an interclub event with riders invited from other clubs to ride for the Eddie Crory Trophy and cash prizes in each race.
We will run 2 races on the night and a change from previous years the start and finish will be in Hiltown.
Racing starts at 7.00pm with sign on open from 6.30pm.
Entry fee is £5 and £2 for juniors and youth.
... Both races will be run on a handicap basis, league points will be given out as per usual.
Race 1 for group 1and 2 riders (club completion licence) : 2 laps
Race 2 for group 3 and 4 riders (A1,2,3riders): 3 laps
As this is a bigger event than most club races any additional help is much appericated."
Me and dad are for heading over..anyone else?

Me, Dad, Marty, Tony and Ronnie went to Hilltown tonight. All rode in the A3 group, starting in front of the A1/2 group containing the top boys such as Gary Crory and Roger Aiken!
3 laps of an unreal circuit containing a few tough drags and short nips, worst of the hills coming into Rathriland and Hilltown. Our group was caught on the last lap not far after leaving Hilltown. Last 3 mile from Rathriland to Hilltown was very fast, I was feeling brilliant with a mile to go and was winding up ready for a sprint to the finish line on the hill into Hilltown, when a car cause the bunch to split down the middle leaving everyone watching their lines.
I managed to finish in either the top 10/15 out of 50 odd, with Tony and Ronnie in the bunch. Dad and Marty rode well but were unlucky not to complete the full race.
36 mile with an average of 26.4mph, loved every minute and will be back next year!
Thanks to Newry Wheelers for holding the race.
*Well done to Gavin who won the WDW race tonight!

Brilliant racing tonight at wdw. Scratch rode well to catch everyone with two laps to go. Gavin made a break on the start of the last lap and rode the whole way on his own. Me and ryan rode in the next group until the finish and went for the srint at the end. I finished 2nd with ryan coming in 5th. Well done to everyone.
