Barry, top 10 at least !! Pre-registration closes tonight at 8 pm. I'll race the B race then thanks! Looks like the big name roadies are either getting the fear or leaving it til the last minute to surprise everyone with their names appearing on the list.  |

So how did you get on yesterday Barry and co? It's hard to tell from the video and for some reason only 9 results were posted for the main race ... what's all that about? |

You can see my epic start to the race on the video, having a chat with Big Ring Marty and Lisa, and then Lisa rode off, so I wasn't having that... I had a pretty brutal race. Found it really hard to get going. Was lapped by Roger by lap 5 I think, so that was my outside shot race goal busted. And to make it worse, Luke Ireland beat me, ruining my main race goal FFS  . I buried it for 4 laps to gain on him but was having serious mechanical and physical problems, I totally died on my last lap as well with the effort. The hardest kind of racing I have ever done, bar none. Even harder than some of the insane Club road races I have been involved in. No drafting like in road racing, No technical descents to recover on or even steady climbs to settle into like in XC, just flat out. No breaks. Having to sprint out of every corner is bad enough, but then they make you get off and run up wee hills... After a while you walk them, as while you were doing a running motion in the first few laps, it was about the same speed as walking. I am Bursted |
