Ok, there is some info under the Club Members section about the club league. Feel free to come back to me when you have read over it. I'm thinking of heading out on the MTBs this Sunday, early, 8am early. If anyone else is available then let me know. I'm flexible about where we go. Otherwise it will be me on my own. Nationals only 2 weeks away

Here's the way I see it... If the points system encourages you to turn up then it works. If it encourages you to push to better yourself then it works. If everyone turns up on a regular basis, and the best 4 out of 6 or whatever rounds are considered at the end then surely its fair and everyone is subject to the same rules. As I understand it, this isnt just a league for DCC members to have "bragging rights" at the end of the year, but a chance to get some training in for UXC and NPS rounds. After all surely its the guys in the other clubs that we really need to be competitive against?? These meets are a great way to measure your own performance, meet others and share your thoughts on the course and bike set up and preparation etc etc. This can only be a good thing and make us ALL more competive at UXC/NPS level As for tomorrow I should be out, havent been to Tollymore in a while and Id be up for that.

M Was just about to text looking to see where you's were heading. I can't face the Belvoir mud... I'll be out at about half 7 then on the road to save time (cleaning up!)

Thanks for the run out today Martin. Think I'll stick to the rough stuff from now on..... That black stuff is bad news...

Good run out this morning. Peter and I set off from the Civic Centre around 7:50. Damp day. Took in same type of route as per the winter runs. Over footbridge, up to Giants Ring, into the trees for only a short spin to find out how the 'forest beavers' were getting on. Mad stuff. Very muddy in there.
Back on to the path. Headed for Lagan Meadows then onto Cardiac Hill and finally Aberdelghy. It was at the exit from Aberdelghy that Peter had a "wee lie down". Front wheel puncture to blame. Fixed. I got home just before 10 am. Knackered!!
Cheers Peter.

John, great to have you timekeep. That eliminates one of the competition. Now to try to beat Bryce, Brian and Barry. I wonder if John McG's time trial bike would be any better around that course...... ;D

I wonder if John McG's time trial bike would be any better around that course...... ;D "Sure TT bikes are...", and I quote one of the fastest men at tonights race, "...No advantage whatsoever over a road bike..." Ahem. Anyway I volunteered to help out @ Friday's race, but have been refused and am told I am racing despite my knee injury... MG I was gonna take it easy Fri night and just use it as wee spin out to get the legs turning again. Im afraid youve put paid to that idea and Im gonna have to go all out now ftw! lol

Had one of those nights on, or should I say off the bike tonight! You know things aren't off to a good start when you fall off in the car park... Struggled to finish the course let alone put a good time in. Bring on the race next week!

It was particularly difficult tonight with the boggy bits, however I just pegged it back a bit and concentrated on putting in a steady effort. I really enjoyed it in the end!
MG got a sneaky practice lap in which I found out about on my race run. Oh and cheers for pushing that tree out of the way Martin, just in time too.
Cant wait for a dry run of that course again, even if it does suit the fitter guys.

I was quite surprised with the conditions tonight after our great summer. I was worried I might choke on the dust.

Peter you've had a week off the bike, so I wouldnt be too worried about having an "off" night. Turning up and doing it is the main thing.
