Race over, home, great evening meal with the family then passed out on the bed. Woke about 10:30 pm.
What a day! Moira Park looked superb in the autumn sunlight My head is full of the great sights and sounds of this cyclo-cross race.
From early morning we had a gang on site (from 7am). Big push to get the course set up. I should have organised more generals for the willing soldiers! I should have organised more poles and tape as well
Many thanks to Aidan, Bernie, Brendan, Gary B, Lisa M and to Stevie P (BCC) for being onsite so early. Next to weight in were the Melville's, Roisin, Peter B, Brian W, Austin H with this son Chris. Stephen Y brought the barriers, more posts and Andrew W's generator. Paul J brought his commentator's box.
John C and Deek on timekeeping. Great job lads. Sorry Deek for supplying the wrong gridding list for the CX race. Apologies to the riders as well. My fault.
Fritz on camera. Looking forward to seeing this.
Great job on the food from Massimo and daughter. Thanks to our commissaire Aaron Wallace. Thanks to the Wilson, the Melvilles, the Monaghans and the McDowell's for the clean up afterwards.
My mum and dad. What would I do without them?? From all day Saturday through early morning Sunday and right up to late this evening. I am humbled.
If I have left out your name, I deeply apologise. My brain is turning into the sticky mud that was in the park today. Many thanks to all the riders for coming along and to the spectators who helped to create a brilliant atmosphere. Hopefully the council and local residents will allow us the opportunity to use this venue again next year. A big thank you to the support from Lisburn City Council and to Cyclezone for sponsoring the youth prizes.
I would really like to hear your feedback, comments and suggestions for next year. Please email me on martin@dromaracc.co.uk
Thank you all.
